Goals and a fresh start!

Every August, I try to set goals for the new school year.  It's nice to have a fresh start each fall after a fun, relaxing summer vacation.  If I write them down and allow others to read about the goals I'm setting, I'm much more likely to stick to them.  So, here they are...

Personal goals:
  • Work out daily
  • Pay off my credit card by Dec. 15
  • Limit my bev. consumption to weekends only
  • Snack only on fruit
  • Lose 10 pounds by Oct. 1
  • Drink a Starbucks skinny vanilla latte (my addiction!) no more than once a week
  • Set aside (and stick to it!) a specific time each day to pray and have personal quiet time with the Lord
  • Have an official date night at least once every other week with Kev
  • Snuggle with my nephew as often as possible because he won't be a baby for long
  • Visit with my grandparents at least once a week
  • Drink more water and less soda
  • Learn how to play wiffleball and golf (thanks to my wonderful coaches, Kev & Ryan)

Professional goals:
  • Start each morning with an inspirational quotation for my students (and myself) to think about throughout the day
  • Have a 1:1 meeting with each of my students (all 42 of them!) within the first month of school... learn who they are, what they need, what their goals are for this year, etc...
  • Get to know my 5th grade teammates, both at school and outside of school
  • Stay organized
  • Plan one week in advance
  • Leave school at a reasonable hour to get to the gym :)
I will add to these throughout the year, but I think this is a good, realistic start!  When you see me, please encourage me to stay on track!

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."  (Colossians 3:17)
