Happy birthday, Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday... She is one of the most selfless, loving, patient, caring people in the world. She's raised three children and has one-- almost two--grandsons! She's been the best wedding planner and should start a career planning weddings. She's beyond talented in so many ways... and she loves to be busy! :) She loves my dad and he loves her like crazy; you can still see the love in their eyes as they look at each other. I hope one day I'll be just like my mom... an amazing mother, wife, daughter, and woman of God.

Mom... you mean the world to me and to our family. I hope you've had the best day. Enjoy your date night at dinner with dad, put your feet up, relax, and know that you are truly wonderful. I LOVE YOU!

babies

I forgot how much I love to snuggle with babies... Today, I got to nursery duty 10 minutes late (which is not surprising to anyone who knows me) and politely asked/begged to be in the infant room. There were only two children at that point... with 3 adults. Luckily, 6 more quickly came and I was able to stay in there. Boy, I sure did love snuggling with those cutie pies! Little Lucy was as snuggly as could be. Kevin and I won't have children for a while but when I want my share of cute baby lovin', it's nice to know I can count on my nephew (soon to be two nephews!!) and the sweet babies at West End Presbyterian Church. Praise God for babies!

Webster and Alex are gettin' hitched!

This past weekend, my brother proposed to the love of his life! I couldn't be happier for these two! Alex, we're so happy to have you as part of our family. You make my brother so happy!

Lately

Lately...

1. I've finished grad school-- didn't think I'd see this day!
2. We've moved in to our new house and already love the joys and challenges of owning a home.
3. I've almost finished my 5th year of teaching and my 1st year at TES.
4. I've learned that living with Riggins is always interesting! We're down a pillow and a bit of a rug... he keeps us on our toes! Kevin is glad I'm finally learning this info... I always thought living with Riggins would be a piece of cake.
5. We're 51 days away from our big day!
6. Summer begins so, so soon... June 17th! What a great year it's been!
7. The Lord continues to bless us abundantly!

new house!

On May 12th, we close on our first house! We've got a lot to do in the next month to prepare for this exciting time. Riggins will love the big backyard... and the awesome neighborhood for long walks and runs. It's in a great location -- near Gayton ES, Short Pump, both of our jobs, etc... We can hardly wait! Here are some pictures of our new home, although the furniture in it is not our furniture. Once we have a grill, we'll be ready to entertain there! YAY!
