Feb. 26...a night I'll never forget!

Get ready... this is a long post! I couldn't sleep last night as I replayed the events of yesterday in my head. So, here I am... up and at 'em early on a Sunday morning writing a blog entry. Ha!

On January 23, 2009, I met the love of my life.... the man I've dreamed about and prayed about since I was a little girl. I had just come home from Kat Hamner's birthday celebration (Kat, I'll never forget your birthday now, ha!) and my friend, Alissa, convinced me to go to her friend's house for a bit. I was tired and didn't really want to go... thankfully, she doesn't give in easily and she convinced me to go for a few minutes. Well, a few minutes came and went and we finally left at 3am! For anyone who knows me AT ALL, I rarely stay up past 10pm (ok, 9pm). Kev and I didn't talk much that night, although he caught my eye immediately. When he asked me to play Rock Band (and then quickly told me I was not good and took away my drum sticks one by one), I was happy to have something to talk with him about. He was still traveling to and from St. Louis for work at that point, so that next week we talked on the phone and (I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit) Facebook. He asked me to go on a date when he got back in town... we went to Melito's and hit it off right away. There wasn't an awkward first date with us... it just felt right.

Fast forward about two years...
Yesterday, we played with Riggins and my parents' dog, Winston. Kev wanted to take them for a walk. I'd already been to a tough boot camp workout so I was content with watching the dogs run around on their own. Little did I know, he wanted to propose on our walk. He claims I'm a bit stubborn... I don't know why he'd think that?! :)

Last night, we dressed up and went on a dinner date to Hondos. He'd only been there with his family for a few birthday celebrations and I'd never been there at all. It was a BIG step above our usual date nights (although we'll forever love Mexico and Grandpa Eddies!) and we felt like true adults. The food was delicious, my date was by far the most handsome man in the restaurant, and the evening was perfect. When we got back home, Kevin proposed. He was nervous... and so was I! I actually forgot to say yes until he asked again. At that point, I obviously said yes and could not have been more thrilled. We've had a great two years together and I can't wait for many more memories to be made and a lifetime of happiness together. The Lord has blessed us tremendously, and for that, we are forever grateful. Thanks to our friends and families for your encouragement and excitement. We are SO ready and excited to take this next step in our journey. "Praise God from whom all blessings flow!"

Here are some pictures (in no particular order) of the past two years. As I was downloading them, I realize we take a lot of really close-up pictures. We'll work on that... :)
